This Christmas, I wanted to especially thank our FILMMAKERS ROUNDTABLE for the incredible staff they have become. We are celebrating another amazing year ending 2017 with the best year ever. This happens because we have an amazing group of unselfish and hard working professionals.
CONGRATS STEPHANIE Stephanie has been with our organization for coming up on ten years. She has been a huge part of the success of the Table because of her dedication. When you find people who really work hard, believe in the process and understand the benefit to authors, you have a treasure. I believe Stephanie's paralegal background, her attention to detail with authors and her leadership has moved us to the highest level. We wanted to honor her and thank her as our first Vice President of Author Relations leading our team in many areas. She has been the most productive of our entire staff and we applaud Stephanie's hard work. CONGRATS MARK Mark has just celebrated his first year and has brought three publishers to the Table in strategic partnering. His fifteen years publishing experience connects with some of the largest publishers in the world. We are so thankful for him and Melissa, whom our family has known for forty years and believe in the future being brighter than ever before. He is our Vice President of Development and if you are a publisher and don't know how valuable it is to have an asset like Mark, just contact us today how you can begin this new strategic partnership. WELCOME JESSICA In the final quarter of 2017, Jessica came from one publisher as an executive on staff with our Table as the Marketing Director. She is our newest member and what an amazing marketing professional she has become. By joining strategic screenwriting groups, understanding author relations and connection with writing teams everywhere, Jessica has a "can do" spirit that is contagious in our group and we feel so honored she is with us. CONGRATS JOSH Josh leads our FILMMAKERS ROUNDTABLE SHOW on YOUTUBE and plays a vital role in our film communication to the world. Having a degree from MTSU in film and also a background in "story", Josh has and will continue to play a vital role in our future! Josh brings a fresh approach to the Table with his dedication and perseverence. I believe his roots are part of the creative genius he shares, along with his knowledge of the industry. CONGRATS BECCA Rebecca has continued to be our social media coordinator and worked behind the scenes to "share our story" with the world. Becca recevied her Masters a couple years ago from the University of London Richmond in the Visual Arts and we feel incredibly thankful she is one of our most insightful "Table" participants in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of how we communicate via Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, SnapChat and so much more. As one of our support team members, we are thankful for her. CONGRATS ROUNDTABLE Truly, being a part of this growing team is an honor. Serving every day with people who are bringing their skills is one of the best ways to continue to improve in a highly competitive field. When we got 114 WGA screenplays sent to us after our last feature film, we knew it was time to provide a "trusted source" in reviewing and providing invaluable adjudication, review and reports to content creators and people inside and outside the industry. Our film team ROUNDTABLE is anonymous, which protects the privacy of highly successful WGA and non WGA screenwriters. They have won a list of prominent writing awards and they care deeply about the future of story in motion pictures worldwide. It is among the highest of integrity and best practices this TABLE is here for you, the content creators of the world. So I want to close by saying THANK YOU to the multi talented TABLE TEAM who represent the "family of man", are from every race and many religions, backgrounds and belief systems. Thank you for always giving your best. CONGRATS PUBLISHERS Because of this entire team, this year we are seeking to find publishers of faith we can be equally yoked with to serve. We are honored to serve with publishers who desire to help authors in their journey along the way. Because of the quality of this team, we launched a Bible publishing arm which we will talk about more in 2018 and we are doing everything we can to help grow publishing and the "best practices" in an industry which has seen a lot of problems. This does not happen without competent, trained, educated and hard working men and women who love helping others, for the right reasons. We rally around a common principal entitled, THE GOLDEN RULE. We review films we believe have unique stories and will stand the test of time because of the quality of craftsmanship. Thank you FILMMAKERS ROUNDTABLE and most of all, for being our "family". Thank you for overcoming the struggles, for standing up against wrongdoing and for being a leader in helping others with truth. We salute you all. Happy New Year 2018, Kevin

One of the most wonderful opportunities we have at the Filmmaker's Roundtable is when we get to connect with authors who have a story they believe can change the world. So many great books are being written and the visual language of film should be an integral part of their future. Personal biographies are always exciting when you see how powerful truth goes beyond imagination into a new realm. Tom and Rene' Stewart have both been victims of abuse and to a large degree, they have been treated tragically in their past and much worse than the average person. When you meet them now, you find people who have gone through so much, to turn tragedy into triumph and they are now focusing on helping others. This past month, Tom flew to Detroit to be with our team as we shared one of our movies honoring American Veterans and what a wonderful experience it was. Tom's story is unique in that it is all true and this became part of a worldwide legal case which got international attention when he and his brother illuminated truths about a national organization who desperately needed to improve the qualifications in the role of helping supervise children. When you take a stand, this requires real courage. As a victim, who understands other people who have lived through tragedy on so many counts, I am always moved by stands of courage. In October 2017 the author and his wife who had tried to capture their story in a book, came to us with a dream. We believe this is a perfect venue to help share this story to the world. The couple was in between publishers and yet, still had a dream to create a new work, a new visual documentation of where they were going. A special thank you to all the great self publishing arms in the industry who are doing a great job of encouraging these authors. It didn't take long for us to realize this was a "Christmas gift" in a new fashion. You see they desire to start a worldwide organization with a big vision, to help those in need. They started a new website we helped them with, it's entitled secretknots.net and if you want to see how something can be birthed in a short order, established to help others, you have to check the site out today! Authors who realize their role in helping find investors, securing the seed capital needed and are willing to role up their sleeves like Tom and Rene', should be applauded. Not only are these wonderful people, they have a mission and a purpose in everything they are doing. Another side to the Stewart family, is their gentle approach in helping people who have gone through PTSD and other tragic forms of emotional challenges. Today, they are looking to network with some of the finest counselors in the world and beginning a new portal for people in trouble. This is the kind of "vision thinking" which really inspires us at the Roundtable. To summarize, never think of your story "inside the box", but think outside the realms of traditional thinking and you will be amazed at what can truly happen to change people and their lives for the better! Merry Christmas Friend, Love you all! Coach KMAC From a series of amazing events, we found a new story this month because of the FILMMAKERS ROUNDTABLE. I wanted to take a moment to thank so many of you who have believed in who we are and why we are here.
New stories are being discovered at a rate that is absolutely "over the top". As you know, we have needed in our film company a few more stories to share with the world. We are looking for true stories where ordinary people are used in extraordinary circumstances. Team, you have been great and I appreciate the "behind the scenes" work from those unsung heroes who work so diligently in helping us find the stories that matter. Specifically, the publishers who are working with us have pointed us to the "best stories" which impact the human spirit, which celebrate the family of man and bring us together in unity and love. These mantras are more than just unique selling propositions in business but they represent something even more powerful. This is a month of THANKSGIVING and a time originating back to the Jewish people in the Festival of the Harvest, which was emulated by the Pilgrims in the early days of the United States. Have you thought about what you are thankful for? Be thankful for your family, for your friends, for your colleagues, for your synagogues, churches and mosques. Take time to be thankful for your religious leadership, for your governmental leaders and for your civil servants who loyally serve us and show them your appreciation. I am especially thankful to God this year for the blessings of this year. While there is always trials, I am thankful for my friends and my enemies. I am thankful for the way God is working in our lives, through every storm and every triumph. For my Rabbi, Curt Landry I am thankful for his leadership in our lives. For my pastor and for the special leaders who have come into my life from every tribe and every race. I love you and am especially thankful for you this season. Believing in a great tomorrow! Kevin Below is a picture of Tom and Rene' Stewart from Buckley, Washington. Welcome to our family Stewarts! When you make a decision to step out in faith, there is often a price to be paid. Sacrifice comes when you believe in something so much and you know deep within your soul, this is the right direction, but there are many obstacles in the way.
One of the greatest obstacles in intellectual properties is capital. People don't like to talk about it, but I want to stop and make this the focus of this month's blog. Capitalization. GREAT FILMMAKERS BELIEVED Filmmakers have long determined that the pursuit is worth the effort when it comes to taking an idea and transitioning this idea into a film. George Lucas for years (almost seven) shopped Star Wars and without the success of American Graffiti, it would have been buried. Can you imagine if he had given up? Mel Gibson spent twelve years to finally release the Passion of the Christ, but did you know the story began with him on the top of a building almost getting ready to commit suicide? The relentless pursuit of sharing a story with the world can often be tumultuous and rocky. People just don't like talking about the "tough stuff", because everybody wants a happy ending and a Hollywood finish where it was all easy. The facts are simple that 8 of 10 films do not economically model very well, they lose money. Many people are making stories which are questionable to even be in cinema. Speculation, like drilling an oil well is a simply put, a risk. So why does one decide to risk capital to put toward a film? YOU MUST BELIEVE IN YOUR STORY So many people are timid and not bold about their own belief in their story. My father used to say, "I have never seen someone so proud to be humble". Beware of these kind of people because they are filled with false humility. We are not talking about being full of pride, but instead being confident you "believe" your story is good. When you ask yourself the question of "belief", ask others whom you have confidence if they also believe. Beware, we all are somewhat empirical and this leads to the next key in succeeding in your capital efforts just below. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO LISTEN TO OTHERS There are many different kinds of professionals out there, from Screen Writers, to Script Doctors, to professors of story and more. Filmmaking veterans and professional readers are worth seeking out, for their insight and knowledge. Finding a great team of people who have real cinematic experience can make all the difference in the world. Notice I did not suggest you talk to mom, dad, family and friends. The reason is because they are usually not professionals in film. It's like a person who says, "I have seen a lot of movies and I know what is a good movie and what is not". They become self proclaimed experts with no real educational or professional experience. Look for good counselors, so this leads to the next section. FIND THE RIGHT TEAM MEMBERS Team is always such a big part of filmmaking and since we are focusing on capitalization, you need people who "care" about your subject matter. You need people who are not just "dumb money" in that all of us need people who can contribute even more than just money. These individuals have resources, talents, connectivity and partners who can expand on your ideas. Finding the right team for capital will mean "someone" paying for their services. Don't expect people to come to your side for free. The good team members cost and they are worth the expense and become mere "dots" in the total process of filmmaking. PUT SKIN IN THE GAME When someone desires for "everyone else" to pay their bills, there is usually a red flag which goes up the pole. As a filmmaker, I have "skin" (finances, resources, research and even people) in ALL the games we play. For the past ten years, I have equity, cash, sweat equity and more in every movie we make and there is a cost to everything we do, not matter how large or small. Every movie has the entire team cheering for a win together. One more thing about "skin in the game" I believe is important to note. Make sure you don't try to do it "all" by yourself. Get a group around you, find others who will believe in your dream and are willing to do this by putting their money where their mouth us. It's an expensive process to be in film, so know this part going in the door. BE PATIENT Don't give up on your efforts. We have authors, playwrights and screenwriters put on screenings for us all over the country. They invite investor prospects and we have the honor to show up, share one of our recent films and talk about the importance of great story-telling, well created and moving films which can impact an audience. The patience truly is a major part of all funding efforts. Hopefully, this has been helpful as you consider the sacrifice you are willing to make to see if your "creative work" has the potential to make it to the big screen. Dream big dreams and don't give in to "stinking thinking", but believing in something even greater than yourself. DON'T STOP BELIEVING You can be a kid from Oklahoma who grew up in a modest home, self made and dream the dream of being in a movie and one day, be making movies, just like I did. Do everything you can to hone your craft, get a great education, tell your story with passion and don't stop believing, just as the song goes. Love you, Coach KMAC Tonight is a special night in our family's life and in home in Franklin. Lynn's daughter, Julia Damore is performing as a new artist in the music world here in Music City, USA now as a professional. As one of the rising stars in Nashville, Julia has spent her entire life preparing for this very moment to step into the world of music professionally.
Like an Olympian who trains for a lifetime for the ultimate race, she begins her new journey in music. Soon, you will see more about her on SPOTIFY and ITUNES. You can learn more about her at julia.damore.com and experience her talent first hand. So what did it take to get here for this amazing talented new artist? A lifetime of work is the answer. Julia focused on her craft from the time she was a child. She was in productions at Bravo, involved in middle school and high school singing in chorus, in musicals and vocal contests. She later became the choir president at Franklin, High School and began to focus on musical presence in her youth. Getting a scholarship in music at Lipscomb, she was selected by an all college choir to be one of three soloists. On the national level, she won at NATS third place for her amazing vocal talent and became nationally recognized early on. After an opera and classical training background in her first two years in college, she studied in Vienna. Then, she flew to NYC to meet with casting directors on Broadway and also Juliard School of Music considering her future options. Belmont University quickly became the next musical focus and she transferred into commercial music for her remaining under graduate years where she could also have more of a variety background. Quickly rising as one of the lead talents, Julia began to visualize a future in professional music. Getting married in January of 2017 was a landmark with her wonderful husband, Brandon Damore who is a barista at Golden Sound in Nashville. He is an artist, vocalist, guitarist and an audio engineer in his own right graduating from Belmont's prominent sound engineering school with a B.S. in Audio Engineering Technology. The talented couple had become a real first family in music in our home and have been working together on this new project, AN EVENING WITH JULIA DAMORE. At the country club this evening, Julia will be performing her first three song demo ever as a professional recording artist. She has invested thousands in getting to this place and tonight launches her entire career performing. Continuing to invest in other vocal students, she is practicing and performing all the time. A sacrifice is truly involved in being a committed musical artist. Having this special event, her goal is to fund raise for an album project which will be expensive, but worth performing. People are being asked to contribute to her dream and they will! She has a CD of her new three songs with one original song created for her entitled Time Waits. Stephanie Musser and I wrote this song dedicating the piece to our mother's have prematurely gone to heaven. You can't just "wing it" when you are an artist in the competitive field of music and being an author is exactly the same story. If you have a dream to be involved in film, you have to sacrifice, invest, being disciplined to connect and network with the right people and it takes years to prepare. Julia has an amazing accompanist in Stephanie Musser who has traveled from Oklahoma to join our family and we are so thankful for her involvement in Julia's life too. A team gathers when an author desires to move from one place to a higher place. Can you imagine being Tom Clancy, Stephen King or J. R. Rowling and having a dream to be in film too, but the goal seems almost unreachable? Ms. Rowling barely had enough money to survive before HARRY POTTER. The process is never fast, but always worth the journey. So if you are an author, let us know if you would desire to have your book reviewed for the purpose of transitioning your book to film. It is our honor at the Filmmaker's Roundtable to be a part of your journey and we take every author seriously. We pledge to read carefully every word through our team of professionals and bring solid advice on the process you will need to be most successful. Congratulations Julia and thank you for being a great example of working hard to achieve your goals, investing in your future and believing when the times get rough and believe me, they will get stormy. Remember it will not always be easy to reach your dream, there will be supernatural attacks which can come against you, but don't be discouraged as you can rise above any obstacle with God's help. We honor you on this special occasion and are praying for your success in every way. To the entire team, family and host of people surrounding you, we thank you. Johnny Hodges for your musical direction, Javier Solis for helping us find the right studios and for all of the "dedicated" music people believing in your future, we salute you too. Excited about the future, Coach Papa K. One of our recent authors we have been working with at FILMMAKERS ROUNDTABLE is a 71 years young blind individual, who has more sight than people who see perfectly. She represents faith and has overcome many obstacles in life when others would grow bitter and simply give up hope. When she lost her eyesight two decades ago, she had no idea that not long after her many surgeries, she would be holding a ten day old baby grand daughter and being asked to raise her.
Can you imagine your life if you could not see and now, you were tasked to raise an infant, but she did it and now this little girl is fourteen years old and is doing great. I asked her this week when we were meeting about her book being turned into a film, if it was hard and almost impossible to do. She said, "I wouldn't change a moment of this precious time and you have to learn to overcome". What a story of how faith, perseverance and boldness this story exuded. God used this visually impaired lady to stand in the gap for an infant in need. It would have been so easy to say no. Clearly, not being able to see would be every reason to deny the request. This beautiful woman had a different answer, an answer in giving. When I stop to think of how many times in our lives we have "too much going on", or are too busy and I realize how people who are much more physically challenged, are taking on huge tasks to give, this impacts my heart. I ask myself, "What are you doing to help others and are you making a difference?" Are you giving to help someone today? Lord David Alton, from Liverpool England said to me in a film we made years ago, "It only takes one small stone to make a landslide happen. It's not that we are all big boulders, but just because we can't change everything, doesn't mean we are not suppose to do anything". The words from the British House of Lords champion brought him to the forefront of the world's stage in human rights fighting against persecution of people in faith in far away lands. David is a humble man, who stepped out in faith. Throughout my life, our team has worked with so many champions of causes. We have seen ordinary people used in extra-ordinary ways and in the end, we are so amazed. Whether we had the joy of talking to people who are helping at St. Jude's. These giants are helping children fight life threatening diseases. Month's ago at Toby Keith's Children's home in downtown OKC where Shauna Smith was using her own 50th birthday party as a way to give. She asked her friends to think of 50 items people they might donate instead of buying her a birthday present! You cannot believe the thousands of dollars she raised. Sunday night Laura Jones Watts from the Journal Record is going to the Public Broadcast System to answer phones for educational television from 5-10 pm. Sometimes, even a small time of volunteering can do great things. Don Kerby is working to help the Veterans group about the Viet Nam traveling wall and the list goes on and on. Think about these amazing volunteers for good will and great causes! When I toured the building Toby Keith began, I thought how a musician could be such a giving and philanthropic individual helping children in their last stages of life, to bring a smile. In these types of miracles, they all begin with giving. So here is the question for all of us, are we "giving" to help others? This past week, another amazing "giver" was honored and it was my pastor Craig Groeschel and his wife Amy whoreceived a HEROES AWARD for their work in helping with adoptive children and foster care in Oklahoma. They not only have time to pastor one of the largest congregations in the nation, they are taking time to help in the cause of adoption. These are two of the busiest people on the planet, but they stop to give. No matter what the reasons are for NOT being involved, don't live your life about just you. Take time to give back and do something about it. It is going to cost you, and it may cost you more than you realize. Maybe you will have to sell your home, maybe you will have to adjust your lifestyle, maybe you will have to live differently. I believe it can be so worth the sacrifice. So this rainy morning in August, I am encouraging you to "see the world" differently. Take the advice of a beautiful visually impaired seventy one years young author. Hear the most encouraging words as she continues to "give" to others. See the world through a different lens than your own and maybe, just maybe...you will see for the first time, a whole new world of hope. I love you, Coach KMAC Normally, I don't post from a blog from another site, but I am sharing a post from Veritas Mission Films today because this especially applies to "authors, content creators and filmmakers".
BEYOND THE GATES OF SPLENDOR was made in 2002 when we were working with Every Tribe Entertainment. This company was named after a song Ron Owen wrote which I named from the scripture, Every Tribe, Every Nation because it embraced the voices of the whole world. The song was anointed and I knew it was a 'calling'. In the family, director Jim Hanon began the narrative beautifully when Steve Saint read these words, "Every family has a story and our story began in the jungles of Ecuador". Its so true that our stories, our creations begin our journeys to share with the world. Authors, content creators and filmmakers have the challenge of transitioning from books where you can "dig deeper" to the abbreviated language of filmmaking, so that we might...change the world. What does it mean to want to “change the world” and be a catalyst for something greater? Who are the kinds of people who not only ask these questions, but are willing to go beyond the normal axiom of thinking anyway? These kinds of questions are almost Messianic as we remember the actor in the series “The Bible” which was created by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey engaging us with these interrogatives. Christ was speaking to Peter in the boat when they were fishing and challenged him with his question and I have been thinking a lot as I transition into the latter parts of my life, what is left to be done and why? James Barnett the CEO of Dayspring Greeting Cards is an awesome friend of ours. He and his wife Marilyn mean the world and their son Jordan is one of my adopted godsons. Jordan lived with his when he was going to graduate school at Lipscomb University for film and is one of the most talented young men I know. Last year James was attending a CEO conference where Andy Stanley spoke. He was challenging the group with two key questions for life. Andy said, “The first question relates to your job and what you do and here it is. If you could change one thing in your profession that would literally change everything, what would it be?” When I first heard about this it made me really stop and think about films, about product creation and about the delivery methods by which we receive information. The more I pondered these thoughts, the more I realized the power of what he was asking. Andy went on, “So last question is about your passion. When you answer this question, it will define what you do the rest of your life. What breaks your heart?” The room was silent as each executive stopped to consider what was the very “core” that would break your heart, would be the catalyst where you would face your destiny. Tommy Sims is a world-class songwriter, musician and artist who has recently become a endeared friend through Javier Solis, an amazing sought after drummer here in Music City. Tommy wrote the Grammy Award winning “Song of the Year” for Eric Clapton entitled, “Change the World”. However, not many people know that this song began in Tommy’s childhood when he penned the song at 17 in the streets of Chicago. Isn’t it interesting that you don’t have to be wealthy, older or have resources except the talents you have been given to “Change the World”. You just have to be willing to listen, to be obedient and heart the sound of distant drums calling you. This means having the ears to hear and the eyes to see when sometimes, other people just don’t. So here is the question of the day, “Do you have the desire to think differently and pave the way to make life better? Are you willing to “change your world” and what is around you by placing your passion ahead of your personal pursuits?” When you begin to do more for others, reach out to helping people who are under served, you will find everything in your life will be different. Lets all try to find our passion and follow the journey where we think differently. We are not like the animals, the bird and the fish, because we have been given dominion over our planet. Let’s make it better, listen to those who don’t think like we do and learn. Don’t paint yourself into a corner or live in a box style of thinking, but instead stretch your mind, embrace innovation and see your value. God made you for a purpose. He has a plan and a destiny for your life because you matter. Ask Him for insights, pray and listen, wait for answers and then, step out in faith and be willing, to change the world in the way He has equipped you for in this journey of life. I love you all, Coach KMAC Recently we did a MOVIE SCREEN SPOTLIGHT PRESENTATION with an author who had one of the most amazing stories and I wanted to write about the experience. This was a woman who had gone through a horrible tragedy in her life and survived an international bombing incident in Kenya. She literally was found under a pancake of rubble barely alive and completely blind.
One minute, she was an innocent bystander and the next moment in the flash of an eye, there was no sight. Can you imagine the trauma of laying under concrete after being blown up with dead people all around you, and living to tell the story? Her inspirational story may never be made into a feature movie you would see in box office, but she had the makings of an amazing "from tragedy to triumph" story where a feature length documentary might be a future option. This made me think of so many people who have been ordinary people, upon whom have lived through the most extra ordinary circumstances and become champions through it all. We are currently reviewing her book for a Cinematic Book Review and looking so very carefully at the entire story for adjudication. However, even in the middle of this process, her story impacts my heart even today. She shared with us she just wanted to leave a legacy with her life and maybe her story would help others. The greatest honor I have is being a part of an organization where we might be helping birth these kinds of stories to be illuminated into film. There are times in life, when it is just not about the money, it's not about the fame, but it is about something so much greater than ourselves. Whatever your story, you may have gone through some amazing experiences which need to be written in a book, created into a screenplay, drafted into a documentary or more. Don't give up and keep following that dream. You have something to say and God can use you, if you are willing. Going into film is expensive, so don't go into movies or into the cinematic world if you don't have some sources of support. However, you can write a book and it doesn't cost that much to publish or self publish. Is it worth it? Not always, but if you didn't try and just gave up, you would never know. The next story we review may be yours and we are praying for you in this process. Only do this if you believe you are supposed to go farther. May the Lord richly bless you in your efforts. Thank you authors for touching our lives and congratulations to the new authors who are now making movies! It is worth the risk when you have this reward. With Great Expectations, Coach Kmac Recently we spoke with an author who had contemplated going to the Filmmaker's Roundtable for some time. They were somewhat skeptical of the authenticity of the process and if indeed results would even matter. Their questions were legitimate and it made me stop and want to ponder these.
What has been amazing for our team are the real relationships we have come to know in the past four months of our existence. More and more studios are really looking for good stories, searching for content and where do they go? Many screenplays are being written by WGA screenwriters, but they are being passed over, why? Our team believes the basic story elements of great films are missing core diagnostics which we have identified, review carefully and make recommendations which are logical and consequential to the outcome of the story. The pay offs, the rewards and the character arcs are all so vital in great films for them to work, you can't ignore them. Wonder Woman came out and like the majority of mass film audiences, I reluctantly went with low expectations. I could not have been more surprised at the outcome. What a fun film that combined present day, mythology and World War II. The classic sacrifice came at the end and the pay offs to the villain and the arc of the character pleased everyone. DC Comics is to be sent a BIG CONGRATS on taking their screenplay to a high level. I so enjoyed watching the film and have now seen it twice because I wanted to study the writing even closer. Often when I go to a movie, the first watch is more from a fourteen year old mind (which is not far from mine, even though I am 59). However, the second time I see a film, I am breaking story down, diagnosing audience reaction, looking at the plot lines and how they all come together. If you want a good lesson in great screenwriting, TWELVE YEARS A SLAVE, WONDER WOMAN, PRIDE & PREJUDICE and many wonderful classics like SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION can be watched over and over, pleasing audiences every time. This is a great test of a great story, when you want to keep watching the film. The other night, I saw SEA BISCUIT again and every bit of that film made me smile. A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN is another amazing script, just start digging for them. Hopefully, it is our prayer at the FILMMAKERS ROUNDTABLE that through our review process, through excellent filmmakers and award winning writers, we can bring stories to light in new ways. Sometimes, the form responses are difficult to swallow, but we believe if you work hard, listen to the counsel of veterans, you can join this crusade to make great cinema using outstanding story telling techniques. Remember this, if the story is not on the page, it will not be on the screen. Great stories will make great screenplays when the execution is precise. This is why great screenwriters are so invaluable. We have many we believe in because of their skills, who they are and their success. Don't listen to the critics either, they have no idea most of the time what is real, at least in our world. Stay with your dreams and don't give up, in the end, there may be a rainbow waiting. God bless, Coach KMAC Why dream, when it is so much easier to just simply give up? Everyone can give you a long list of why you should stop your dream, not push forward and give up. People on some occasions can and will innately be selfish and skeptical of all dreamers or people who believe something could be better, right? I mean, isn't it easier to life a life where you just simply exist. Dreams fail most of the time, at least this "lie" is where we miss the boat.
I don't think this is the way anyone should live or plan. As a content creator, an imagination guy or even an idea merchant, you have to realize how important you are and your dreams. Don't let the nay sayers of your life try and push your dreams into the dirt. Walt Disney was a classic example of a man who never gave up on his dreams. People wonder, why do we take time to do free television programs on FILMMAKERS ROUNDTABLE? Because people who can't afford to go to film college, have no real one on one connection to filmmakers can get answers to important questions. We can help all people with no real financial reward, but the opportunity to create impact is worth it. If you have a book which you believe could one day be a film, then let me say, "Don't worry about having a crazy thought of going into cinema". Yes, it is going to be hard and yes, you will have to sacrifice. Oh my goodness, you might even have to pray about it all, but I can tell you, there is nothing more joyous than believing in your dreams and acting on them. There are a number of authors I know who will never entertain something larger or a bigger vision. However, to those who are willing to go the farthest mile, we will be joining you in your own prayer vigil. You don't have to hire us to be an encouragement group, because we believe in dreams and we are dedicated to people who see more than what is before them. Don't try to build a dream alone. We are made to live in community and if you need resources, find a team. If you need people who will believe with you, search for them and find them. You have so many opportunities when you dream, but the road is less traveled and will stretch you. Thank you for believing and remember, never, never, never, never, give up.
